China and United States economic tensions are at an all time high!
Throughout the year both the US and China have been going through ups and downs in their financial relationship. Between tariff threats from both sides being enacted and then pulled back as well as specific industries like agriculture having imports drop to record lows, the environment between the two world titans has not been stable to say the least. These two economic superpowers control entire industries that have ripple effects worldwide if they are fighting. The uncertainty alone has caused all sorts of fluctuations in the stock market just this year. As long as this level of volatility is continued and targeted tariffs are not off of the table, it doesn’t seem like an end is in sight. Prices will continue to be a little bit higher and it becomes more and more unlikely that relations will go back to that pre-2018 era of diplomacy.
How have you been affected by this level of global uncertainty? Are you seeing it in the grocery store or maybe you own a buisness? Either way, what ways do you think this will affect our portfolio as this continues?
